Engineered Hardwood Floors in Woodside
Among the most attractive and durable flooring options for your Woodside home or business are engineered hardwood floors. These floors are constructed from different layers of wood, or plies, glued together for strength. The layered construction of Woodside engineered hardwood flooring lends significant advantages in durability over traditional, solid hardwood floors. Many homeowners choose engineering hardwood floors in Woodside for use in areas that have traditionally been thought unsuitable for hardwood flooring.
Solid Hardwood Flooring in Woodside
Because it is constructed from 100% hardwood milled from lumber, solid hardwood flooring in Woodside is considered less durable than engineered hardwood flooring. The organic, all-natural materials from which these floors are made can also be susceptible to changes caused by exposure to moisture or extreme temperatures. These conditions may cause solid hardwood floors in Woodside to expand or shrink. However, much of this warping can be corrected by sanding and refinishing the flooring from time to time.
Homeowners who plan to use hardwood floors in a bathroom, kitchen or below-ground room are advised to avoid solid hardwood floors as they may not be able to withstand the moisture buildup typical in these areas.
